ABOUT THE ROLE
Trafilea is seeking a Senior Accountant with EXCELLENT English skills and experience working in fast-paced and dynamic environments, preferably within the retail, ecommerce, internet or online industries, to join our FULL TIME, FREELANCE and REMOTE team.
This role will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting functions, helping with the monthly close process, generating financial statements, and developing business insights from accounting information. The ideal candidate will be proactive with an ownership mentality, a team-player with strong communication skills, personable, and eager to work in a fast-paced environment.
The individual should be goal oriented, service minded, and have experience in various aspects of accounting including but not limited to revenue recognition, COGs and inventory, accruals, capital, payroll, and month end close. The person will be also responsible for all General Ledger functions including various asset and liability reconciliations: banks, credit cards, gateways, vendors, balance sheet and income statement analysis, process improvements, and other tasks on demand for the position
Support in the accounting statement reporting, Be responsible for accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures for certain key balance sheet and income statement accounts (including preparing and/or reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations). Accomplishing the company´s deadlines.
Ensure the electronic billing implementation according to the Uruguayan compliance. Before 2018 year-end.
Streamline current procedures and, develop and implement control systems.
Support in the reorganization and recreation 2016, and organize it in the Accounting system, uploading all the journal entries, before year-end.
Involve and manage with the Accounting Manager all the audit process, providing all the documentation on time to the auditors.
Coordinate the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations (e.g. inventory, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets).
Ownership over AP/AR, including processing vendor invoices, preparing vendor payments, and account reconciliations. Ensuring the correct electronic invoice, according to the Uruguayan´s compliance. Oversee AR processes, including invoicing and cash receipts entries
Proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies - research and explain account fluctuations.
Ownership over various banking activities, including cash, credit cards, and statement reconciliations.
Review, book, and adjusting journal entries. Maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
Perform month-end accounting functions
Assist with monthly and annual financial statement preparation
Assist in the preparation of internal and external reporting packages for management and investors
Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows and changes
Prepare schedules as requested by the Auditors and assist with questions
Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment, with various functional teams
Help to the accounting manager in the implementation of the ERP (BrightPearl): checking the setting of the automatic journals in the correct account, understanding the accounting workflow in depth.
Maintain and improve current accounting processes and infrastructure. Assist in improving accounting and financial reporting process by helping to evaluate processes and opportunities to add value and efficiency.
