People Business Partner - Marketing

Job description

At Trafilea, the People Business Partner (PBP) is not a support function, it is a strategic co-leadership role. In Marketing, this means being the driving force behind how our teams are structured, scaled, and enabled to achieve world-class results.

Unlike in many companies, a PBP at Trafilea operates with a seniority equivalent to a business leader, with direct accountability for organizational transformation and the success of People initiatives at the departmental level. You will work hand-in-hand with Marketing leadership to shape strategy, ensure business scalability, and foster a high-performing environment where people thrive, performance accelerates, and the department can deliver at the pace of the company’s ambitions.

This is a mission-critical role: you will directly influence how quickly and effectively our Marketing organization can attract the right talent, scale processes, and adapt to the ever-changing dynamics of digital growth.

Main accountabilities:

  • Strategic Partnership & Co-Leadership

    • Act as the right hand of the Marketing leadership team, co-owning business outcomes and ensuring that People strategies are not only aligned but embedded in day-to-day execution.

    • Anticipate department needs, proactively design solutions, and influence decision-making at both strategic and operational levels.

  • End-to-End People Process Ownership

    • Lead the full spectrum of People processes in Marketing: talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, career development, compensation cycles, engagement surveys, and internal communications.

    • Ensure these processes are executed with excellence, accountability, and direct connection to business goals.

  • Organizational Transformation & Scalability

    • Serve as a project manager of change, leading high-impact initiatives around People, PMO, and Process Improvement to guarantee that Marketing can scale rapidly while maintaining efficiency and quality.

    • Design and maintain the department’s organizational structure, ensuring role clarity, capacity planning, KPI alignment, and process effectiveness.

  • Talent Excellence & Culture Building

    • Validate critical Marketing hires and ensure the right talent is always in place for rapid execution and scaling.

    • Make key decisions on promotions, recognition, and terminations, ensuring fairness while driving accountability and high performance.

    • Strengthen the department’s culture, reducing attrition and improving engagement, with leaders held accountable for outcomes.

  • Coaching & Capability Development

    • Directly coach managers and contributors, ensuring they meet expectations and develop both technical and leadership capabilities.

    • Partner with Learning & Development to build tailored onboarding, training, and development paths for Marketing talent.

  • Operational Excellence & Business Impact

    • Ensure effective department meetings, communications, and cross-team alignment in a multicultural and fully remote environment.

    • Define and monitor key people-related KPIs, proactively report blockers, and ensure transparency to C-Level leadership.

    • Lead initiatives that improve workflows, collaboration, and inter-team connections across Marketing and beyond.

Job requirements

  1. Professional Experience

    • Proven experience as an HR/People Manager (not specialist/analyst) in high-growth ecommerce or digital-first companies.

    • Hands-on track record working directly with Performance Marketing and Growth teams is mandatory. You must understand their dynamics, challenges, and the pace at which they scale.

    • At least 3–5 years in leadership roles with responsibility for building and executing People strategy in rapidly scaling environments.

    • Strong background in process improvement, organizational design, and project management, ideally with exposure to transformation or PMO roles.

  2. Academic Background

    • Degree in Business, Human Resources, Marketing, Administration, or related fields.

    • Certifications in Project Management or Process Improvement (PMP, Agile, Lean, etc.) highly valued.

  3. Core Competencies

    • Strategic Leadership: Ability to act as a co-leader of the Marketing function, not just as a partner.

    • Decisive & Accountable: Proven ability to make tough decisions on talent, structure, and processes, and take full responsibility for outcomes.

    • Project & Process Mastery: Skilled in leading large-scale initiatives with clear planning, execution, and monitoring.

    • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of how Performance Marketing and Growth functions operate, scale, and drive business results.

    • Influence & Communication: Exceptional communicator who can lead in multicultural, remote settings and influence C-Level and departmental leaders.

    • Adaptability & Urgency: Thrives in fast-changing, demanding environments with a strong sense of urgency and resilience.

    • Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Adept at using data, KPIs, and insights to make sound decisions and ensure precision in execution.

  4. Language Skills

    • Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken (B2+).
