Key Responsibilities
The mission of the Accounting Sr. Analyst – Inventory & Costs is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory accounting processes, supporting timely and precise financial reporting for effective decision-making. This role safeguards compliance, drives process improvements, and contributes to external audits while ensuring valuation, reconciliation, and variance analysis are consistently reliable.
Closing Process: Support timely month-, quarter-, and year-end close for inventory accounts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
Reconciliations: Perform daily/weekly reconciliations at SKU level with 3PLs; investigate discrepancies.
Valuation: Validate all inbounded inventory cost components (factory, freight, duties, taxes).
Variance Analysis: Identify unexpected inventory variances; conduct aging transaction reviews.
Audit Support: Provide accurate, timely documentation to external auditors.
IT & Reporting: Create IT tickets, maintain KPI trackers, and ensure continuous reporting accuracy.
Squads & Tribes: Participate in Inventory Tribe, Accuracy Squad, and Landed Cost initiatives.
Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (mandatory).
5+ years general accounting, with 2+ years in inventory reconciliations.
External audit experience with a Big4 or recognized firm (mandatory).
Combined Big4 + retail/e-commerce experience highly valued.
ERP (NetSuite preferred), IFRS, SOX, or US GAAP familiarity is a plus.
Advanced Excel proficiency.
Fluent English (mandatory).
Strong knowledge of accounting procedures.
Analytical, detail-oriented, highly organized.
Proactive, solution-driven, and collaborative.
Clear written/verbal communication; calm under pressure.
Flexible and adaptable in fast-paced environments.
